No Stopping The Teenaged Brain
A troupe of 50 high school students and their teachers flew from a remote mountain town near Beijing, China to the metropolis of Los Angeles, California, to perform Brainstorm: The Teenage Brain in Action, by Dr. Sherry J. Kerr.
The multimedia musical explores this explosive period of cerebral growth in the human being. With only four days to rehearse and perform for an audience of award-winning American chorale students, the sleep deprived, non-English speaking students — and their teachers — brought talent, dedication, and grit to the performance.
There's a flickering spark in all of us, which, if struck at the right age...can light the rest of our lives, elevating our ideals, deepening our tolerance, and sharpening our appetite for knowledge about the rest of the world. Educational and cultural exchanges...provide a perfect opportunity for this precious spark to grow, making us more sensitive and international citizens...
